THE SCHOOL CREST

The crest carries the Coat of Arms of the school. It represents the values for which the school stands and serves as an immediately identifiable symbol of the school. The Coat of Arms of the F.I.C. St. Louis Educational Complex is laid out as follows: An escutcheon (shield) separated in anupper field Or, with crossed cudgels argent forming a capital M and lower field azure carrying a spider Or ascending; an open Bible Argent lying centrally across the upper and lower field; the whole bordered in gules. Below the escutcheon a golden banderole with motto WISDOM AND HUMILITY. Meaning of the symbols and colours in the Coat of arms. Or (Gold) and argent (silver) are the papal colours and represent the Catholic Church. Gold represents generosity and wisdom, silver stands for purity and peacefulness. Azure (blue) is the Marian colour and stands for truth and loyalty. Gules (red) represents courage. The cudgel stands for leadership. The crossed cudgels form a capital M, which refers to St. Mary, the mother of Jesus. The spider stands for wisdom and understanding. The Holy Bible proclaims the Good News of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
